Information sharing in companies (the size does NOT matter) is one of the most complex and tedious things to organize. Reading documents is one of the things that people/employees don't do (even if you send them the info).

Think about it: missed conferences, techtalks, a "personal" note from the head of the department or from the president of your company. All of these "information" sessions can be recorded and everybody in your company can learn from it whenever they like. This way of interaction can result in feeling more involved in your company (because now you are heard and seen).
